National Seminar-Workshop and Training Program on Drug Abuse Prevention and Education
The Association of Advocates Against Drug Addiction (A3D), Inc. intensifies drug demand reduction strategy through leadership empowerment with student organizations for deeper awareness and effective strategy for drug abuse prevention and education.
Aligned with the United Nations (UN) Declaration on the Guiding Principles of Drug Demand Reduction, Philippine Republic Act 9165, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order No. 9 series of 2013, and Executive Order 66 series of 2018, A3D’s Drug Abuse Prevention and Education (DAPE) program is designed to inspire and engage university and college students and student leaders in the country, representing various student organizations.
The student governments, supreme student councils, academic and non-academic clubs and societies, etc. are the student organizations involved in formulating, implementing, and sustaining the DAPE projects and activities in their schools and communities.
Moreover, the Leadership Empowerment Against Dopes (LEAD) event emphasizes the A3D philosophy and framework for a shared mission, holistic action, and unified commitment to save lives, preserve dignity, and protect humanity.
LEAD events are aligned with the following sustainable development goals – 3 (Good Health and Well-Being); 4 (Quality Education); 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities); 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Activities during the event included plenary talk sessions, group discussions on issues and challenges, as well as other plans to work out, workshop activities, and output competitions.
Nevertheless, A3D aimed for a better understanding and appreciation of different prevention and control modalities as well as obedience to applicable laws and social legislation.
The National Seminar-Workshop and Training Program on Drug Abuse Prevention and Education was attended by 22 different colleges and universities across the Philippines.
The three-day event was held at the Grand Men Seng Hotel, Magallanes Street, Davao City, on April 26–28, 2024.
Participants vow to be anti-illegal drug champions, DAPE advocates, and nation builders as a testament to their dedication and pledge to sustain and promote a peaceful nation.
