161 ongoing and new scholars under the CHED Merit Scholarship Program (CMSP) participated in a virtual orientation on CMO 08 s. 2019, “Policies and Guidelines for the CHED Scholarship Programs (CSPs),” held earlier today, February 14, 2025, via MS Teams.

Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo, CESO III, Regional Director of CHED RO XI, delivered an inspiring message, reminding scholars of the immense power they hold—the power of knowledge. She emphasized that their selection underwent a rigorous review and deliberation by the Regional Selection Committee (RSC), highlighting the importance of valuing and maintaining their scholarship. To retain their status, she urged them to follow the 4 Cs of CHED Scholarship: Coordination, by staying connected with the HEI Scholarship Coordinator and CHED RO XI; Communication, by actively engaging through email, group chats, and text messages while acknowledging updates; Cooperation, by complying with CHED RO XI and HEI requests and ensuring the timely submission of requirements; and Closure, by successfully completing their academic journey and graduating.

The event, organized by the CHED RO XI StuFAPs Team under the supervision of Ms. Lourdes Melody J. Villanueva, provided scholars with a comprehensive understanding of their obligations, duties, and responsibilities as stipulated in CMO 08 s. 2023. Dr. Casquejo reminded the scholars that “The path of a scholar is not always easy. However, greatness is not born from comfort, but from perseverance.” With this, CHED encourages all scholars to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth and remain steadfast in their pursuit of wisdom.
