Clark City, Pampanga – On June 17 to 19, 2025, CHED RO XI actively participated in the Mid-Year Assembly and Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF) Training Workshop and Validation for the first batch of GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) and Technical Working Group (TWG) members held in Clark City, Pampanga.

Representing the region, Ms. Jermine R. Basister, CHED RO XI GFPS member, confidently presented the Office’s Gender and Development (GAD) Plan and Budget for Fiscal Year 2025. Her presentation provided a comprehensive overview of CHED RO XI’s accomplishments in implementing gender-responsive programs and outlined future strategies for enhancing gender equality, women empowerment, and inclusive education in the Davao Region. She also highlighted key GAD initiatives aligned with national frameworks and shared best practices to inspire replication among other regional offices.

Her active engagement during the discussions and technical workshops further demonstrated CHED RO XI’s commitment to institutionalizing gender mainstreaming. Ms. Basister also participated in peer learning sessions where she contributed insights on effectively using GMEF for self-assessment and institutional evaluation.

The training brought together more than 30 GFPS and TWG members from the 17 CHED Regional Offices and the Central Office, each presenting their GAD Plan and Budget (GPB) and Implementation Status Reports. Participants were equipped with practical knowledge and skills in applying the GMEF tool to assess their office’s level of gender mainstreaming and identify areas for development.

This initiative reflects CHED’s continued efforts to champion gender equity by embedding GAD principles into its policies, programs, and operations across the Philippine higher education system.
