Davao City – The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI), in collaboration with the Council of Deans for Information Technology Education (CDITE) XI and the Philippine Society for Information Technology Educators (PSITE) Davao Region, successfully conducted PAKIGLAMBIGIT 2025: An IT Education Forum and Research Conference on July 7–8, 2025, at The Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases. With the theme “Synergizing Sectors: Advancing IT Education Through Collaboration and Research,” the two-day event brought together key stakeholders from the academe, industry, government, civil society, and media to explore innovative strategies and partnerships that advance information technology education. This strategic follow-through to the success of CHEDx2.0 aligns with CHED’s commitment to fostering innovation, expanding partnerships, and exceeding educational benchmarks.

The opening ceremony on Day 1 featured a keynote speech from CHED Commissioner Desiderio R. Apag III, PCpE, followed by a multi-sectoral (pentahelix) dialogue that led to the signing of a covenant affirming support for the Davao Region Advisory Council for Information Technology Education (DRACITE). These sectoral representatives were also engaged by higher education institutions to serve as members of their respective Program Advisory Boards, contributing to curriculum alignment, mentoring, team teaching, and the enhancement of student internship and employment pathways.

Day 2 highlighted the Academic Forum and Research Conference, with panel discussions on best practices in curriculum, research, extension, and internationalization. This was followed by research presentations and poster sessions that showcased innovative outputs from participating HEIs.

The outcomes of the event include strengthened collaboration among key sectors to bridge the IT skills gap; the institutionalization of DRACITE as a regional advisory body for sustained engagement; the exchange and documentation of exemplary practices in IT education; and the recognition of impactful research contributions that support both academic advancement and industry development. The success of PAKIGLAMBIGIT 2025 affirms CHED RO XI’s sustained partnership with CDITE XI and PSITE Davao Region in shaping a responsive, future-ready IT education landscape.
