CHEDRO XI Joins 18th PNHRS Week Celebration

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHEDRO XI), represented by Dr. Liza C. Suan, Education Supervisor, actively participated in the 18th Philippine National Health Research System (PNHRS) Week Celebration held on August 12–15, 2025, in Legaspi City, Albay. This year’s theme, “One Health for All: Igniting Transdisciplinary Solutions for a Healthier Philippines,” highlighted the vital interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, underscoring the importance of collaboration across disciplines and sectors to address pressing health challenges.

The event became a moment of pride for the Regional Health Research and Development Consortium XI (RHRDC XI) as its representatives brought home several recognitions. Michael G. Bacus of the University of the Philippines Mindanao secured 2nd Place in the 3-Minute Pitch to Policymakers Competition, while John Marke B. Bernardo of San Pedro College earned 2nd Place in the Research Poster Competition – Professional Category. In addition, RHRDC XI was awarded 3rd Place in the Consortium Poster Competition, further showcasing the region’s strength in health research and development.

These achievements reflect the region’s unwavering commitment to advancing health research and fostering innovation through strong collaboration among higher education institutions, research bodies, and stakeholders. CHEDRO XI and RHRDC XI continue to play an active role in promoting a healthier and more resilient Philippines through impactful research and policy engagement.
