CHEDRO XI Joins Workshop on the Formation of the Regional Council on Mental Health
The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHEDRO XI), represented by Dr. Liza C. Suan, Education Supervisor, actively participated in the Workshop on the Formation of the Regional Council on Mental Health held on August 19–20, 2025.
The workshop serves as a vital step toward strengthening mental health governance in the region by creating a Regional Council that will coordinate, monitor, and implement programs aimed at improving mental health services. The initiative is anchored on Republic Act No. 11036, or the Mental Health Act, which underscores the promotion of every Filipino’s mental well-being and ensures that mental health services are affordable, accessible, and available to all sectors of society.
Through this engagement, CHEDRO XI reaffirms its commitment to supporting programs that safeguard the welfare of students, faculty, and communities by promoting holistic approaches to mental health care and ensuring higher education institutions become active partners in the nationwide mental health agenda.
