The UniFAST Secretariat gathered personnel from the Central and Regional Offices nationwide at the Marikina Polytechnic College (MPC) for a two-day activity to reflect on UniFAST’s journey, confront long-standing challenges, and collectively design solutions that will strengthen the agency’s role in delivering accessible and quality higher education.
Through the Roadmapping Workshop on the ASSIST Agenda, Central Office personnel, Regional Coordinators, and CHED focal persons for UniFAST analyzed Problem and Solution Trees, identifying gaps in systems, policies, coordination, service delivery, and communication. These discussions were guided by the six pillars of the ASSIST Agenda:
A – Advocacy Promotions
S – Strengthened Partnerships
S – Synchronized and Harmonious Implementation
I – Impact-Driven Programs
S – Systematic Monitoring and Evaluation
T – Transparent and Efficient Public Service
Executive Director Atty. Septon A. De La Cruz stated “As we enter our next decade, may we carry this promise with renewed passion: na sa bawat estudyanteng nangangarap, may UniFAST na handang umalalay; at sa bawat Pilipinong lumalaban para sa mas magandang bukas, may UniFAST na handang tumindig, tumulong at umangat kasama nila.
Patuloy na maglilingkod ang UniFAST, tapat at buo, upang maabot ng bawat batang Pilipino ang kinabukasang minsan ay pinapangarap lamang. Dahil ang UniFAST, hindi lang programa. UniFAST is a promise. A promise that transforms lives.”
The activity was capped off by the launching of the ASSIST Agenda, witnessed by CHED officials, UniFAST Board Members, and personnel from Central and Regional Offices nationwide, symbolizing a shared commitment to stronger collaboration, improved systems, and continued service excellence for the benefit of Filipino students.
CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis emphasized, “UniFAST is not a monument; it is a mechanism. Its value is not in its age, but in its evidence, not in existence, but in performing. If the first decade proved that access is possible, the next must prove that completion is achievable. If the first ten years showed what we can build, the next ten will show how well we can refine it.”
UniFAST enters its next decade with one promise: to serve with integrity, commitment, and purpose. UniFAST transforms lives.
