Davao City— The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI), led by Regional Director Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo, conducted a courtesy visit to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Region XI (TESDA XI) on January 15, 2026. The visit aimed to strengthen coordination in aligning technical-vocational education and training (TVET) with higher education and to promote seamless learning pathways across the Davao Region.
The discussion focused on key initiatives such as the Philippine Credit Transfer System, ladderized learning pathways, the use of micro-credentials, and the promotion of lifelong learning. These efforts are intended to help learners transition smoothly between TVET and higher education by recognizing prior learning and skills.
Both CHED RO XI and TESDA XI expressed their commitment to continue working together, particularly on the regional mapping of equivalency and credit transfer. The initiative will begin with a pilot in the agri-fishery sector and is expected to expand to other priority sectors such as construction, tourism, and information technology.
Through this collaboration, CHED RO XI aims to create clearer and more flexible learning pathways, improve workforce readiness, and support regional development in the Davao Region.
