CHED RO XI Joins DepEd XI and TESDA XI in EDCOM II Regional Conversation on Education Reforms

Davao City— The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI) actively participated in the Davao Association of Catholic Schools – CEAP Region XI Regional Dialogue titled “Finding Our Ways Forward: A Conversation on the EDCOM II Challenge” held on March 3, 2026 at Holy Cross of Davao College, Davao City.
Taking center stage during the activity, CHED RO XI Regional Director Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo, CESO III delivered a presentation on “Higher Education Reform in Action: CHED RO XI Perspectives on the EDCOM II Findings with the A.C.H.I.E.V.E. Agenda.” Her presentation highlighted key reforms, strategic priorities, and actionable approaches aimed at addressing the challenges identified under the EDCOM II report.
Joining her in the dialogue were fellow education leaders Dir. Allan G. Farnazo, CESO III, Regional Director of DepEd Region XI, and Dir. Tarhata S. Mapandi, CESO III, Regional Director of TESDA Region XI. Their participation underscored a unified, whole-of-education approach in responding to education reforms and aligning efforts across basic education, technical-vocational education, and higher education sectors.
The regional conversation served as a platform for collaboration among Catholic educational institutions, government agencies, and key stakeholders to collectively reflect on the findings of EDCOM II and identify practical, region-specific strategies to improve the quality, accessibility, and responsiveness of the education system.
Through this engagement, CHED RO XI reaffirms its commitment to advancing transformative education reforms, strengthening inter-agency collaboration, and ensuring that higher education remains responsive to the evolving needs of learners and society.
