CHED RO XI and Davao Region SUCs Prepare for 2027 RDC XI Budget Proposal Review and Presentation

Davao City— The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI), under the leadership of Regional Director Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo, CESO III, conducted the Review and Consultation of the FY 2027 Budget Proposals of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Davao Region on February 11, 2026, at the CHED RO XI Function Hall.

The activity was attended by the Presidents of the six (6) SUCs in the region, namely: Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales Jr. of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP); Dr. Lilybeth G. Matunhay of Davao de Oro State College (DdOSC); Dr. Roy G. Ponce of Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU); Dr. Lynette A. Bontia of Southern Philippines Agri-Business and Marine and Aquatic School of Technology (SPAMAST); Dr. Augie E. Fuentes of Davao del Sur State College (DSSC); and Dr. Joy M. Sorrosa of Davao del Norte State College (DNSC), together with their respective Budget Officers and Planning Officers.

The consultation served as a preparatory engagement ahead of the Regional Development Council (RDC) XI budget proposal review and presentation, ensuring that SUC submissions are complete, technically sound, and aligned with national and regional priorities.

Key discussions focused on the validation of Free Higher Education (FHE) budget allocations, confirmation of Land Use Development and Infrastructure Plan (LUDIP) compliance, and the readiness of proposed infrastructure and capital outlay projects. The activity also reinforced the alignment of Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs) with CHED’s strategic priorities and the Davao Region’s major development concerns.

Through this initiative, CHED RO XI continues to strengthen coordination with SUCs to ensure responsive, efficient, and impactful budget proposals that support learner-centered and quality higher education
