CHED RO XI Congratulates Ateneo de Davao University as National Winner of the 2025 Tourism Start-Up Challenge

Quezon City — The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI) proudly congratulates Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) for being declared the National Winner of the 2025 Tourism Start-Up Challenge, recognizing the institution’s outstanding contribution to tourism innovation, digital transformation, and sustainable tourism development.

Ateneo de Davao University emerged as the national winner through its innovative project, “Kuyog – Find and Book Local Tour Guides: A Local Travel Companion and Digital Expo App.” The project demonstrates the potential of technology to connect travelers with local tour guides, promote local tourism experiences, and create opportunities for communities to participate more meaningfully in the tourism value chain. Its innovative approach reflects creativity, technological advancement, and a strong commitment to sustainable and community-centered tourism.

The award was conferred on May 12, 2026, during the Tourism Start-Up Challenge Awarding Ceremony held at Seda Vertis North, Quezon City. The recognition highlights the excellence and ingenuity of the students, mentors, and the entire academic community of Ateneo de Davao University, whose collective efforts transformed an innovative concept into a promising tourism solution with potential impact beyond the Davao Region.
