CHED RO XI Joins Opening of CODEE XI 16th Engineering Congress at LPU–Davao
Davao City — The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI) proudly participated in the Opening Program of the Council of Deans of Engineering Education (CODEE) XI 16th Engineering Congress held at the Lyceum of the Philippines University–Davao. The congress brought together engineering educators, students, government agencies, industry partners, and other stakeholders committed to advancing engineering education in the Davao Region.
Representing CHED RO XI Regional Director Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo, CESO III, Dr. Liza C. Suan, OIC-SEPS, delivered the opening message, emphasizing the vital role of innovation, collaboration, research, and excellence in engineering education. She underscored the importance of preparing future-ready engineers who possess not only technical competencies but also the creativity, adaptability, leadership, and sense of responsibility needed to contribute to nation-building.
The event gathered distinguished representatives from the Department of Science and Technology XI (DOST XI), Department of Trade and Industry XI (DTI XI), partner government agencies, higher education institutions, and industry stakeholders across the region. Also present were the CODEE XI officers led by its President, Dr. Joie Cataytay; CHED RO XI Adviser Dr. Maria Christina B. Condez; and officers of various Engineering Student Governments from HEIs in Region XI offering engineering programs.
The 16th Engineering Congress featured keynote presentations from invited experts, research project exhibits, pitching competitions, sports activities, and other engaging activities designed to promote innovation, leadership, collaboration, and professional growth among engineering students and educators. These activities provided participants with opportunities to showcase research and innovative ideas while strengthening linkages among academe, government, and industry.
