State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Davao Region have been enjoined to take into account the findings and results of the research project entitled “Baseline Data Towards Digital Transformation (DX) of Higher Education Institutions: Mindanao SUCs” when updating their Information Systems Strategic Plans (ISSPs). This study is part of the thrusts of CHED Chairman Dr. J. Prospero โ€œPopoyโ€ E. De Vera III in support of the present administration’s agenda on digital transformation.

This directive comes after the approval of Resolution No. 9, S. 2024, by the Regional Development Council (RDC) XI during its 2024 1st Quarter Full Council Meeting held on March 15, 2024, at the Haven’s Dew Resort in Managa, Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

The said Resolution, endorsed by the Regional Research, Development, and Innovation Committee (RRDIC XI), calls for SUCs to incorporate the findings and recommendations of the aforementioned project into their ISSP revisions. Furthermore, it proposes extending the study to include Private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) in the Region.
In 2023, CHED RO XI, in collaboration with CHED ROs in Mindanao, completed the research project, analyzing the current conditions and future directions of digital transformation among the 117 SUCs in Mindanao. The project assessed six domains, namely: leadership and governance, infrastructure, teaching and learning, research commons, institutional support systems, and sustainability and resiliency of operations.
With the completion of the DX Terminal Report, stakeholders now have access to data that will help them come-up with informed decisions regarding digital transformation plans and initiatives. The Report, containing the results, findings, recommendations, and ways forward, has been disseminated to various stakeholders.
