𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐎 𝐗𝐈 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧
March 25, 2024 – The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) XI, through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD XI), conducted the 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill in The Rizal Memorial Colleges, F. Torres St., Davao City.
The simulation exercise was headed by Regional Director Ednar G. Dayanghirang of OCD XI and the current chairperson of RDRRMC XI. The ceremonial pressing of the button was participated by the DSWD XI Regional Director Atty. Vanessa B. Goc-ong, DILG XI OIC-Regional Director Abdullah V. Matalam, Atty. Ernesto Rafael V. Robillo, VP for Administration of RMC, and Dr. Louie C. Juera, Education Supervisor II of CHED RO XI.
The conduct of this activity is a vital educational experience for students, faculty, and non-teaching personnel of the institution, as it serves as the institution’s proactive stance against natural disasters. The earthquake drill teaches the participants how to respond to emergencies and nurtures a culture of readiness and responsibility, transforming fear into foresight, panic into planning, and victims into survivors.
