CAHFTHE-DR Hosted Membership Caravan 2025 to Strengthen Hospitality and Tourism Education in Davao Region
The Council of Academic Heads for Tourism and Hospitality- Davao Region (CAHFTHE-DR) successfully conducted its General Membership Caravan 2025 on August 12, 2025, at ACES Polytechnic College, Tadeco Road, Panabo City, Davao del Norte.
The event gathered deans and program chairpersons of Tourism, Hospitality, and Culinary Management programs from across the region to formally launch the Council. It served as a platform for fostering collaboration, professional development, and alignment of academic programs with emerging industry trends and CHED priorities.
Joining the activity was Dr. Leomar Jay R. Oblianda, CHED RO XI Education Supervisor II for Tourism and Hospitality Programs, who expressed support for initiatives that advance sustainable and globally aligned tourism and hospitality education.
The program also featured community and environmental engagement activities, including visits to the City Tourism Office and Panabo City Environment and Natural Resources Office. As part of the Council’s commitment to sustainability, participants took part in a mangrove planting activity at the Panabo City Mangrove Sanctuary.
