CODPHCJE XI, CHEDRO XI, UM CCJE & PCAP XI Conduct 2nd Regional Forum on Criminal Justice Curriculum Review

Davao City- The Council of Deans and Program Heads for Criminal Justice Region XI (CODPHCHE XI), led by Dr. Hipolito Quillip Jr., in collaboration with CHED Regional Office XI represented by Dr. Maria Christina Condez, the UM College of Criminal Justice Education (UM CCJE) headed by Dr. Carmelita Chavez, and the Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines – Region XI Chapter (PCAP XI), successfully conducted the 2nd Regional Industry-Government-Academe Forum on Curriculum Review for Criminal Justice Programs in the Davao Region. The event was hosted by UM CCJE on August [insert date if available] at AVR4, LIC Building, UM Matina Campus, Davao City.

Participants were warmly welcomed by Dr. Ronnie V. Amorado, Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs of UM. The program featured an Orientation on Outcomes-Based Education delivered by Dr. Pedrito M. Castillo II, UM’s Vice President for IPAC, followed by valuable insights and recommendations from an industry panel of experts representing the Police Regional Office XI, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Panabo City Fire Station, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region XI, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group XI, and Goncar Security Training Academy, Inc.

The forum gathered representatives from 33 higher education institutions offering Criminal Justice programs in the region. Discussions focused on refining curricula, enhancing syllabi, and upgrading facilities to ensure that academic programs remain aligned with industry standards.

This collaborative effort reinforces the shared commitment of the academe, government, and industry partners to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to become competent, industry-ready graduates who can effectively serve and protect the community.
