The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI) proudly announced that sixteen Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from the Davao Region were recognized as awardees during the 2025 National Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Summit and Recognition Ceremony, held on July 21, 2025, at The Bellevue Manila in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. With the theme “The Power of FBSE: Paving the Way for a Culture-Centered Nation,” the event highlighted the outstanding contributions of academic institutions in advancing service excellence grounded in Filipino values.
The FBSE program is a flagship initiative of the Department of Tourism (DOT) that seeks to instill the core Filipino values in service delivery, especially in the tourism and hospitality industries. Through this initiative, students are trained to embody a service-oriented mindset rooted in empathy, integrity, and patriotism. The recognition of HEIs that have supported FBSE reflects the success of collaborative efforts between the government and educational institutions in shaping future service professionals.
Among the recognized institutions from the Davao Region are: ACES Polytechnic College, AMYA Polytechnic College, Davao Doctor’s College, Joji Ilagan International Management Schools, Jose Maria College Foundation, Lyceum of the Philippines University–Davao, MATS College of Technology, and the Philippine Women’s College of Davao. Also included are the Polytechnic College of Davao del Sur, Samal Island City College, St. Mary’s College of Tagum, STI Colleges in Davao and Tagum, University of Mindanao campuses in Matina and Tagum, and the University of Southeastern Philippines.
These institutions were acknowledged for their active involvement in conducting FBSE Seminar-Workshops throughout 2024. Their dedication to implementing culturally anchored service training for tourism and hospitality students demonstrates their unwavering support for the program and its vision. By integrating FBSE into their institutional activities, they play a crucial role in advancing a values-based approach to education and workforce development.
CHED RO XI extends its deepest appreciation to the awardee institutions for their continued partnership in uplifting Filipino service values and supporting tourism-related initiatives. Their commitment helps pave the way for a culture-centered nation, one that proudly upholds the essence of Filipino hospitality and excellence in every aspect of service.
