The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office XI conducts the Services Caravan for Davao del Sur stakeholders, which highlighted the Regional Cascading of the Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF) and the Philippine Credit Transfer System (PCTS) held today at the UM Digos College, Digos City, Davao del Sur.
The 495 participants composed of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students/ trainees, personnel and college students from the various Technical-Vocational Institutions (TVIs) and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the province were welcomed by the School Director of UM Digos College, Dr. Tessie G. Miralles. This was followed by the messages from the Vocational School Administrator III of TESDA XI, Ms. Grace B. Florentino and from the Regional Director of CHEDRO XI, Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo.
A presentation of the informative talk on the Philippine Qualifications Framework (PQF) that kicked off the Services Caravan was a great way to get things started. The relevance of the PQF in assuring the harmonization, comparability, and worldwide acceptance of Philippine higher education degrees was brought to the attention of the participants, who obtained a greater knowledge of this importance.
Another highlight during this presentation was the Regional Cascading of the Philippine Credit Transfer System (PCTS). Respected academic and industry leaders delivered in-depth talks on the PCTS, during which they underlined the importance of sustainable program and institutional growth that is in line with worldwide standards.
During the event, the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST XI), Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs), Local Graduate Scholarship Office (LGSO), and Administrative Division setup booths in the venue in order to showcase their services to the many stakeholders located within the province.
