Davao City – In a significant stride toward digital transformation in higher education, the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XI (CHED RO XI) held the Turnover Ceremony of the CHED RO XI Mobile App on July 16, 2025. The app was developed by student-developers from the University of the Immaculate Conception (UIC) under the leadership of Dean Ceasar Ian Benablo, in close collaboration with the CHED RO XI Automation Team. The event marked the official handover of this innovative digital platform designed to enhance access to information and services for students and education stakeholders in the region.

The CHED RO XI Mobile App is an interactive, one-stop digital platform designed primarily for incoming college freshmen and their parents. It aims to streamline access to critical information and services related to higher education in Region XI. With a user-friendly interface and integrated digital tools, the app allows users to explore CHED-recognized higher education institutions (HEIs), view their program offerings, and access details such as accreditation status, website and social media links, and contact information.

One of the app’s key features is its integrated map, which allows users to conveniently locate HEIs across the Davao Region. The platform also includes real-time updates on CHED RO XI activities, press releases, and media content drawn from official CHED RO XI Facebook posts. Another notable highlight is the “RD’s Corner,” which features updates and engagements of CHED RO XI Regional Director Dr. Maricar R. Casquejo.

Beyond informational resources, the mobile app links users to CHED’s online services and transactions, making it a valuable tool not only for students and parents but also for educators and institutional partners.

The development of the app reflects CHED RO XI’s commitment to innovation, accessibility, and youth-driven solutions. It also highlights the strength of academic-industry-government collaboration, showcasing what can be achieved when young minds are empowered to create meaningful change through technology.

As digital tools become increasingly vital in modern governance and education, the CHED RO XI Mobile App stands as a testament to how technological innovation can help bridge gaps in information, promote transparency, and improve access to educational opportunities in the region.
